In the film, notorious murderer Riddick is betrayed and still left for lifeless on the desolate planet and uses his instincts to survive. He finally groups up with mercenaries arriving to capture him to flee from a bigger threat. Leah Pickett on the Chicago Reader calls the movie "only marginally considerably less dumb and nonsensical than the pre
